Institutional Minnesota Transfer Curriculum (MnTC) Review
Welcome to the Institutional Minnesota Transfer Curriculum (MnTC) Resource Center Goal To improve the alignment of each institution’s MnTC through an institutional self-evaluation process using an agreed-upon checklist of evaluation criteria. Rationale The MnTC is now ten years old and it is time for all institutions to re-examine the courses that are placed in the MnTC at their institutions. The 2001 Omnibus Law requires MN State Colleges and Universities to accept courses, goals and the entire MNTC as determined by the sending institution. The number and percentage of students transferring credits is increasing. There is a greater need for consistency among institutions. Plan This plan occurs over a period of time that is long enough to gather information, raise awareness throughout the system, involve all stakeholder groups, and set expectations and outcomes within stated timelines. The timeline of this plan begins with the April 30, 2004, Oversight Committee Meeting and the June 14, 2004, Oversight Committee Work Group, and extends the planning process through Spring, 2008. Institutions are expected to use the results of their review to make certain that their implementation of the MnTC is in compliance by Fall, 2008.
